2007 was another very active year for the Family Owned Markets Fundraising campaigns.  Each store participates in their own local charitable events, sponsorships, and donations, as well as the following programs run by the entire group

Central PA Muscular Dystrophy - Our stores raised $12,903 for the Central PA MDA by the sales of SMAMROCKS during March of 2007.  Our goal for 2008 is $15,000

During 2007 Kennies Markets once again ran their PARTNERS IN LEARNING program where they donated $25,000 to local schools in their market areas.

Our 2007 Charity Golf Outing was another HUGE success.  Our goal for 2007 was $23,000 and our FINAL tally came in at $26,108.  These funds all go to the Central PA chapters of the American Cancer Society RELAY FOR LIFE campaign.  Our goal for 2008 is a whopping $35,000

During August of 2007 our stores sold paper hearts for the benefit of the American Heart Association and were able to raise $11,103 for the Central PA chapter of AHA.  Our goal for 2008 is $15,000

Hospice of Lancaster County - Once Again during 2007, the Family Owned Markets was a Platinum Sponsor for the Hospice of Lancaster County Labor Day auction. They raised over $330,000 for the 2 days auction on 2007.  We will once again be the Platinum Sponsor of this event for 2008

In November of 2007 we participated with Water Street Rescue Mission, the Lebanon Rescue Mission, and Missions in York and Adams county on the SCAN AWAY Hunger campaign.  By selling meals for a homeless person at our checkouts, we were able to raise $14,492 during this program which all of the funds went straight to the above missions for food.  We will again be running this program during November 2008

In December of 2007 we again partnered with WGAL and the SALVATION ARMY to be the Primary sponsor of the Coats for Kids program.  Another record setting amount was raised during this event in 2007.
